          Tulip Fields in the Chicago Suburbs

           

          One of the first sure signs that winter’s over and spring is finally here, tulips are beginning to bloom throughout Chicagoland. Check out our guide to exploring the vibrant tulip fields in the Chicago Suburbs! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these tulip fields offer a captivating sight and a perfect backdrop for family outings or photoshoots. Embark on a journey through these blooming landscapes, creating lasting memories and stunning photographs amidst the sea of tulips. Tulips usually bloom 1-2 weeks when the temperatures remain around 45-55 degrees. However, if the temperature rise too much the tulips may only bloom 1-2 days and then wither from the heat.

          Many of these locations even allow you to pick your own tulips, so you can bring the beauty of spring into your home. Check our map and guide to the stunning and colorful tulip fields throughout the Chicago Suburbs and their expected blooming period.

          Please note, each field will bloom at a different depending on the soil, amount of rain, planting time, etc. And, the expected to bloom time fluctuates from year to year and even day to day.           Kuipers Family Farm

          Maple Park, IL

          Over the past few years, they have planted nearly 500,000 tulip bulbs across 7 acres of the farm. Admission to their Midwest Tulip Fest includes many activities across the farm to make a day out of the adventure.

          Expected to Bloom: Late April and Early May

           

          Richardson Adventure Farm

          Spring Grove, IL

          Over 1 million blooms altogether including 30 different tulip varieties and stunning daffodils planted. Many activities are planned for their Tulip Festival and take advantage of free parking.

          Expected to Bloom: Mid-April through Mid- May

           

          Chicago Botanic Garden

          Glencoe, IL

          With more than 750,000 bulbs scattered throughout its Glencoe campus, the Chicago Botanic Garden showcases some of the area’s most stunning and diverse tulip varieties.

          Expected to Bloom: Late April through Mid-May

           

          Downtown Naperville

          Naperville, IL

          Downtown Naperville is filled with tulips in the spring! Between strolling, dining and shopping, be sure to stop for a photo or two.

          Expected to Bloom: Late April and Early May

           

          Magnificent Mile

          Chicago, IL

          The infamous Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago is lined with beautiful tulip blooms. Complete with an exclusive hybrid variety named after the Mag Mile itself.

          Cantigny

          Wheaton, IL

          Another family-friendly spot is Cantigny – filled with colorful blooms and big beds of tulips amongst their 29 acres of gardens.

          Expected to Bloom: Mid-Late April and Early May; Tulip Sip and Stroll
