          Discover Naperville: Monthly Local Events – August

          It’s back-to-school time! Classes at Naperville School District 203 start on Thursday, August 13 while Naperville School District 204 starts on Monday, August 17. In between all of the changing schedules, set aside some time for a bit of fun and explore all that Naperville has to offer. We hope to see you around the neighborhood!

           

          Downtown Naperville Sculptures

          June 3 – September 1  | Downtown Naperville

          Come see the painted DOG Sculptures in Downtown Naperville this summer, starting the first week of June until September. The Dog Days of Summer … here we come! The Ville Team is so excited to share our 2026 sculpture with you – Lucky. Learn more about Lucky and submit your guess as to how many coins were used to bring her to life here.

          Look for 24 DOGS in varying shapes and sizes and 1 CAT sculpture in various locations downtown. Use the map to find them all! VOTE for your favorite sculpture here.

           

          5th Avenue Farmer’s Market

          Every Saturday, June through October | 7a-12noon | Fifth Avenue Station Naperville

          Build a farm-to-table meal with a plethora of locally grown food. You’ll also find an array products, performances and events, making this a great destination for the whole family! The Naperville Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 7am–noon, June through October.

          Naperville Sprint Triathlon

          Sunday, August 2 | 7a-12p | Centennial Beach

          From beginners to elites, everyone can find their place at the annual Naperville Sprint Triathlon at Centennial Beach. The Naperville Sprint Triathlon is a 375 meter swim at Centennial Beach followed by a 22k bike and a 5k run.

          National Night Out

          Tuesday, August 4 | 5-8p

          Cookouts, block parties and neighborhood walks will occur simultaneously in dozens of neighborhoods throughout Naperville on National Night Out. This nationwide event is held annually to heighten drug prevention and crime awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships. Members of the Naperville Police and Fire Departments will visit many of Naperville’s registered events along with employees from the Park District Police and the City’s Public Works, Electric, and Water Departments.           Naperville Community Fireworks Show

          Saturday, August 8 | Frontier Sports Complex, 3380 Cedar Glade Dr

          The original event scheduled for July 4, 2026, was canceled due to inclement weather. There will be no pre-fireworks band concert. The Naperville Park District and City of Naperville will co-host the event. There is no charge for admission or parking, and attendees can watch from within the park or from their vehicles. Parking is available at Frontier Sports Complex and at the adjacent Neuqua Valley High School, located at 2360 95th Street.

          Naperville Neighborly Day Block Party

          Sunday, August 9 | 11a-7p | W. Chicago Ave, between Washington St & Main St

          Naperville Neighborly Day is a celebration of community through a traditional block party experience, providing a meaningful and fun afternoon for all ages to enjoy. Admission is free to attend the classic block party in the heart of Naperville’s welcoming and historic downtown, bringing delicious food and drink, live music, and a unique opportunity to engage as a community about solutions to help end homelessness for local neighbors and families.

          This annual block party, formerly known as Old Naperville Day, is a community celebration returning after a two-year hiatus during the downtown Washington Street Bridge Repairs. Proceeds from Naperville Neighborly Day will directly support local families and individuals in need of food or shelter in our community.
