        With just a few more weeks of school left and the weather warming up, it can only mean one thing… summer’s just around the corner! There’s a ton of events going on around town. Get out and enjoy the neighborhood – we hope to see you around! Here’s a round-up of some of the Naperville events going on in May.

         

        Naperville Food Truck Festival 

        Saturday, May 7 | Naper Settlement

        Enjoy street eats from the region’s best food trucks right in the heart of downtown Naperville at the 3rd Annual Naperville Food Truck Festival. Featuring 25+ of the area’s best food trucks, live DJ entertainment, face painter, beer garden, bubble artist and a vendor village featuring local businesses.

        2022 Downtown Naperville Chocolate Walk 

        Saturday, May 7 | Downtown Naperville

        Each participant receives a bag for gathering all your chocolate treats, as well as a map touring many wonderful Downtown Naperville Shops. At each stop you will experience a chocolate tasty treat to enjoy on the spot or to take home. Only 400 tickets available!

        The Chocolate Walk is 12p-4p, with check in at the Naperville Public Library’s Community Room (200 W. Jefferson Avenue) from 12p-2p (everyone must be checked in by 2p).

        Downtown Naperville Architecture Walking Tour

        Thursday, May 12 | Naper Settlement

        Learn about the important and interesting architecture from the 1800s to today that makes downtown Naperville a beautiful place to live, work and play. Tours last approximately 60 minutes and cover about two miles. Pre-registration is required.

        Stamp Out Hunger

        Saturday, May 14

        The Stamp Out Hunger food drive encourages residents to place healthy, unexpired, non-perishable items in bags by their mailboxes on the morning of Saturday, May 14 for collection by postal carriers, volunteers and community members. The food is then delivered to Loaves & Fishes Community Services.

        Naperville Municipal Band Spring Concert

        Sunday, May 15 | Outdoors in Central Park 

        Kick-off the outdoor summer concert season a little early with an afternoon Spring Concert in Central Park!

        Sippin’ at Sunset

        Friday, May 20 | Naperville Art League

        Enjoy an evening out where beer and wine are perfectly paired with delicious grilled food prepared onsite by Chef Veronica Porter. An al fresco summer night event supporting the Naperville Area Humane Society.

        Centennial Beach Opening Day

        Saturday, May 28 | 500 W. Jackson Ave.

        Jump into summer as you swim in Centennial Beach’s historic stone quarry. It’s not a swimming pool, it’s not a lake, but a swimming experience like no other! Wade into the zero-depth entry and swim to depths of 15 feet. For generations, Centennial Beach has been the local “swimming hole” for many Naperville residents and their guests. It’s a great place to meet friends, gather with family, or simply relax and enjoy.
