        Upcoming Naperville Area Events – November 2023

         

        Here’s a round-up of some of the Naperville events going on in November. We hope to see you around the neighborhood!

         

        Pumpkin Smash

        Saturday, November 4 | Ron Ory Community Garden Plots – 811 S. West Street

        The annual Pumpkin Smash will take place from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Area residents may bring their jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins to be smashed and composted into the soil at the Garden Plots, adding nutrients and water back into the soil.

        Downtown Naperville Lights Up!

        Monday, Nov 6  – Wednesday, Jan 10 | Downtown Naperville

        Kicking off the holiday season, Downtown Naperville will officially come to light with treetops and rooftops illuminated for the very first night of the season.

         

        Vietnam Wall of Remembrance

        Thursday, November 9 – Monday, November 13 | Riverwalk Grand Pavilion | Sunrise to 10:00 pm

        Naperville Park District is partnering with Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873, Naperville American Legion Post 43, and Naperville Responds for Veterans to display a replica of the Vietnam Wall of Remembrance in the lawn area near the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, just west of Centennial Beach. During the ceremonies listed below and on each night of the display at 8:00 p.m., an Honor Guard will perform “Taps” and conduct a three-volley rifle salute in memory of the fallen. The volleys signify “duty, honor, and sacrifice.”

        Opening Ceremony: Thursday, November 9 at 10a
        Veteran’s Day Ceremony: Saturday, November 11 at 11a
        Closing Ceremony: Monday, November 13 at 8p

        Holiday Open House Weekend 

        Saturday & Sunday, Nov 11 – 12 | Downtown Naperville

        Wander through shops all weekend for some early-bird holiday savings and stock-up sales! Enjoy musical entertainment and lively decorations around town, plus special holiday sales and surprises at many downtown shops.

         

        26th Annual Turkey Trot

        Thursday, November 23 | Naperville Central High School

        The 26th annual Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving morning November 23, 2023 starting at 8:00 a.m. This is a chip timed race with awards given to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each age group.

        Holiday Parade of Lights

        Friday, Nov 24 | Downtown Naperville | 7p

        The parade will travel through the heart of downtown under the beautiful twinkling lights. Pre-Parade entertainment will begin at 6:45 pm on the broadcast stage located at the corner of Webster and Jackson Streets. Bundle up and enjoy an evening of festivities and brightly lit floats. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to celebrate the season! Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with kids inside the Naperville Public Library until 9 p.m.

        Small Business Saturday

        Saturday, Nov 25 | Downtown Naperville | 10am

        Special savings and surprises await you in downtown’s small business community of shops! Come downtown Naperville on Small Business Saturday (November 25). Keep an eye out for plaid bows on the doors of locally owned and operated merchants this holiday season!

         

        Holiday Elf Scavenger Hunt

        Monday, Nov 27 – Wednesday, Dec 20

        Find all of Santa’s magic elves hiding out in downtown shops – they may be hiding in the store windows or inside the business. Children of all ages are invited to print off a list of where the elves may be found – with many chances to win prizes if they find them all.

        Cup of Cheer, House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea

        Thursday, Nov 30  – Friday, Dec 1 | 9a-4p | $60 – Thurs / $45 – Fri

        Tour four beautiful homes decorated for the holidays. Your ticket includes a map to all the homes. Enjoy the tea with homemade cookies and receive a commemorative teacup and saucer or mug. Shop the Holiday Market at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 for artisan items to help with your own holiday decorating. (The market is open to the public without a ticket on Fri, Dec 1 from noon to 4pm.)
