        Upcoming Naperville Area Events – December 2023

         

        Enjoy a month full of holiday cheer and local events in the area! Here’s a round-up of some of the Naperville events going on in December. AND – don’t make sure to check out our Naperville Holiday Bucket List at the end! We hope to see you around the neighborhood!

         

        Holiday Elf Scavenger Hunt

        Monday, Nov 27 – Wednesday, Dec 20

        Find all of Santa’s magic elves hiding out in downtown shops – they may be hiding in the store windows or inside the business. Children of all ages are invited to print off a list of where the elves may be found – with many chances to win prizes if they find them all.

        Cup of Cheer, House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea

        Friday, Dec 1 | 9a-4p | $45 – Fri

        Tour four beautiful homes decorated for the holidays. Your ticket includes a map to all the homes. Enjoy the tea with homemade cookies and receive a commemorative teacup and saucer or mug. Shop the Holiday Market at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 for artisan items to help with your own holiday decorating. (The market is open to the public without a ticket on Fri, Dec 1 from noon to 4pm.)

        Elise Flagg Academy of Dance presents: The Naperville Nutcracker

        Friday – Sunday, December 8-10 | Pfeiffer Hall

        Celebrate this holiday season with the magic of The Naperville Nutcracker. Set to the beloved score by Tchaikovsky — with its beautiful costumes, gorgeous sets and impressive dancing. This production is guaranteed to fill the audience with cheer and delight!

        Holly Jolly Days

        Friday & Saturday, December 8 & 9 | Naper Settlement | $5 per person, children under 4 Free

        Celebrate the wonder and joy of the holiday season with holiday crafts, stories, and more at Holly Jolly Days! Learn how reindeer shoes are made with a special story-time and demonstration by the blacksmith at the forge. Create your own holiday crafts to take home in the Meeting House. Listen to Christmas stories in the museum’s one-room Schoolhouse. End your visit with a special family photo at our Victorian Christmas photo stop at Pine Craig Mansion.

         

        The Weed Ladies Winter Sale: December 8 from 3-7PM, December 9 from 12-5PM, December 15 from 3-7PM, and December 16 from 12-5PM. Make sure to stop by the Daniels House to purchase some beautiful holiday-themed floral arrangements created by the Weed Ladies of the Naperville Heritage Society volunteer group!

        Naperville Chorus Concert: A Swingin’ Christmas with the Pete Ellman Big Band

        Saturday & Sunday, December 9-10 | Wentz Concert Hall

        Get into the holiday spirit with the Naperville Chorus’ concert of A Swingin’ Christmas with the Pete Ellman Big Band, featuring jazz and traditional arrangements of Christmas favorites and an audience Sing-Along.  Since 1976 the Naperville Chorus has presented concerts both in the holiday season and the spring.  This concert will mark the 7th collaboration between the Chorus and the Pete Ellman Big Band.

        Breakfast with Santa

        Happy Holidogs Winter Camp

        Saturday, December 9 | Naperville Area Humane Society | 9a-12noon | Ages: 8-11

        A one-day camp at Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) where children spend some fun time doing crafts and activities while learning about pet care and how to be safe around animals. We will explore cat & dog body language, make treats for pets, and of course, spend some time with the shelter animals!

        Santa Brunch

        Enjoy brunch with Santa during one of the two seatings. Santa will be taking photos by the Christmas tree. Photos and frames will be available for purchase. Reservation Required

        Live Nativity

        Sunday, December 10 | The Compass Church Naperville Campus | 2-8p

        Your family will be guided through five scenes with recorded narration, effects, and live actors and animals. This is a free event that will take between 20-30 minutes to experience and most of the event will be held INSIDE!

        Brooks Ugly Sweater Gingerbread Man Chase

        Saturday, December 16 | 20 West Jefferson Avenue | 8:30a

        Join Naperville Running Co. for a 2-3 mile ugly sweater run/walk along the Downtown Naperville Riverwalk…while chasing the Gingerbread Man! Giveaways, sweater contests, prizes for catching the Gingerbread Man, coffee, breakfast and even gingerbread cookie/house decorating, too! All ages and abilities welcome!
